About Srila Prabhupada
In 1965, at the age of 69, Srila Prabhupada embarked on a journey to the West, arriving in New York City with just forty rupees and a trunk of books. Despite many hardships, his unwavering faith and determination led to the establishment of ISKCON in 1966. Srila Prabhupada’s teachings emphasized the chanting of the Hare Krishna maha-mantra, the study of sacred texts like the Bhagavad Gita and Srimad Bhagavatam, and living a life of devotion, humility, and service.
Srila Prabhupada’s influence has been profound and far-reaching. Under his guidance, ISKCON grew into a global spiritual movement with hundreds of temples, farm communities, schools, and restaurants worldwide. His books have been translated into numerous languages and have inspired millions to take up the path of bhakti-yoga, the yoga of devotion.
Srila Prabhupada’s legacy continues to thrive through his teachings, his disciples, and the ongoing efforts of ISKCON centers worldwide, including ISKCON Dadri.
